David played basketball and baseball at Augustana college which is located in Sioux Falls, SD. David recently graduated with a degree in exercise science and fitness management. He plans to attend graduate school and become a grad assistant while earning a master's degree. NBC has given David the tools that are needed for a successful life and he wants the experience that he had at NBC for his fellow coaches as well as campers. He wants to give the campers a positive experience, helping them to develop the skills and tools for not only basketball but also for life.

Kia Gibson

Kia is from Nine Mile Falls, WA where she mastered the arts of basketball, volleyball, and underwater basket weaving. After high school Kia became part of a nationally placed JUCO after 2 years. After her graduation from North Idaho College, she moved to Grand Canyon University, and finally to Northwest University. In her search for higher truths Kia stumbled across NBC camps where she was blessed to pass on her knowledge to younger learners. Their eagerness is what keeps her intrigued with these camps. In these camps Kia has found a home in the vast wilderness that is her life.

McKenzie Foster

McKenzie is going into her second year of playing at the University of Mary in Bismark, North Dakota. She graduated from Sweet Grass County High School after recieving All-Confrenence and All-State honors. McKenzie is currently working towards a degree in nursing and possibly becoming a pediatrician. Her favorite part of NBC is being around incredible individuals who are true in their love of basketball and God and getting the chance to develop camper's minds and skills on the court.

Marc Vilas

Marc currently coaches at Simpson University in Redding, California as the men's basketball assistant coach and head golf coach. He has spent the last 10 years coaching basketball throughout California. Marc is also going to be a NBC site director at both the Fullerton and Redding sites and is looking forward to meeting kids from all over the west coach. He is also married to NBC volleyball director, Christy Swaggerty-Vilas

John Paxton

John is the big man on campus as the site director of NBC Alaska as well as Colorado. He played high school and college basketball at Alaska Pacific University. He has coached at at all levels from elementary, middle, and high school. He currently works his dream job as a P.E. teacher in Greeley, CO. He said the two movies that make him cry the most are The Rookie and The Notebook. He also has a crippling addiction to Peanut M&Ms.

Rachel Hansen

Rachel played basketball and ran track at Montana State University Billings. She was a senior captain this past season, was chosen to the All-Academic GNAC team for 2 years as well as awarded the Yellowjacket team award. She graduated this past year with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She will be attending physical therapy school at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California in the fall. Her favorite part of NBC camps is the atmosphere and work ethic instilled not only in the coaches but also in the campers. She is most looking forward to positively impacting the campers and pushing them past their limits.

John Stene

John is from Big Timber, Montana. He graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in 2007 and has been coaching sense. He coached boys basketball at Sweet Grass High School in 2008-2009 and is currently an assistant women's basketball coach at Seattle Pacific University in the GNAC confrence. John has been working with NBC camps for 8 years as a coach, master teacher, site director, and international Tour coach. This is his 6th year coaching at NBC Alaska. "It is a tough game and a tough world. NBC Camps has changed my life, teaching me the fundamentals of the game that I love, and more importantly sharpening my character and faith. I believe this is an experience that changes kid's lives every day."

Tim Beauregard

Tim has an AA in Small Business Management, Business Administration, Social Skills and Science, and General Studies. He also received a business degree in organizational leadership from CSU Fresno State. Tim just finished his 4th year as lead assistant coach for the Lady Sunbirds Basketball program at Fresno Pacific University. He has worked with NBC as a coach, master teacher, and assistant site director. Tim can be found at NBC Alaska, and at NBC Montana as a master teacher."The best way to spell words like trust and love is T-I-M-E, and to me there is no better teacher of this than the game of basketball. Basketball teaches our youth such things as leadership, teamwork, effort, and dedication, which make the sport bigger than a sport—it makes it an outline for success. NBC brings people together and gives us, coaches, a great layout for working with young athletes and using basketball to build confidence both on and off the court. NBC has given me the opportunity to grow in ways I had never thought possible. Each summer only serves to increase my passion for teaching, learning, and basketball as a whole."

Krehg Perez

Krehg was born and raised Alaskan. He has most recently become an assistant coach with Texas A&M International after coaching the past 2 years at University of Alaska at Anchorage. He has coached at all levels from Junior High to College. He has also spent 6 years coaching at Heritage Christian School in Anchorage. "NBC is always a highlight working with a great staff who all have different gifts and teaching future athletes the fundamentals of basketball."

Chelsea Daugherty

Chelsea is from Summit, New Jersey and just graduated from Mars Hill College in North Carolina with her B.S. in athletic training. She will be attending Auburn University for her Masters degree in the fall. She does not have basketball playing experience but did work with the woman's basketball team at Mars Hill. This is her 1st year with NBC so she is looking forward to getting to know everyone and interacting with the kids.

Danielle Voss

Danielle has been a certified athletic trainer for 5 years. She recieved her college degree from Mars Hill college in 2005 and her Masters degree from UNC Pembroke in 2007. Currently she is the ATC for Mars Hill College and has been working with NBC Alaska for 4 years. While she doesn't have any basketball playing experience she is a huge fan of college basketball, especially Duke. Her favorite part of NBC is the energy and impact seen on the kids.

Terrell Burgess

Terrell is straight outta Compton, California. Although from Compton, Terrell left at a young age to pursue his life goals of visiting every country in the world. Currently he has visited 89 countries and was part of a research expidition to Antartica. He is in the running for the most interesting man in the world. He attended Metro State in Denver, starting as point guard. He was first team All-League and was also voted as the defensive player of the year in 2006-2007. He currently coaches women's basketball in Northern California at Siskiyaus Community College and has been there for 3 years. One of his favorite parts of NBC camps is pushing players and having them enjoy sweat and hard work.

Craig Jantizen

Craig is the lone Canuck up here hailing from Calgary, Alberta. He played college basketball in Canada for 5 years. He was a 3 time All-Conference player and Captain of the 2009 National Champion Mount Royal Cougars. He was a 1st team All-Star at the National tournament. Craig brings a new style to basketball earning himself the nickname of Air Canadian for his unique gliding ability He loves NBC and the positive environment that liberates kids and gives them a safe place to be who they are. It is great to see a sport camp that intentionally impacts kids beyond sport.

Carl Arts

Carl Arts is in his first summer working on the NBC Camps staff. He has just recently finished up his fourth and final season with the University of Alaska Anchorage Division II Seawolves. This past season, Carl led the Seawolves to a 29-6 record and a final four appearance at the NCAA Division II tournament leading his team in scoring, rebounding, and steals. This year Carl was named an NABC 1st Team All-American, 1st Team All-West Region, 1st Team All-Tournament at the West Regional Tournament, 1st Team All-Conference, and All-Tournament Team at the prestigious Division I Great Alaska Shootout, leading the tournament in rebounding. He is UAA's third leading all-time scorer and rebounder, and is in UAA's all-time top 10 in 12 different categories. His major is Physical Education and he plans to pursue a career of playing professional basketball in Europe. Carl states, "I am very excited to use my talents to help kids improve their skills and reach their potential in basketball. I am looking forward to this opportunity and working with an experienced staff."

NAIA DIVISION 1 CALIFORNIAN COLLEGE COACH COMING TO NBC UAA GIRL'S TEAM CAMP

Kelsey Dillon, head women's basketball coach at San Diego Christian College, will join UAA's highly successful Coach Tim Moser as featured coaches at NBC's 26th annual camp in Alaska.

Coach Dillon had great accomplishments when she played for the Azusa Pacific University Women's basketball program; she was a 2005 NAIA All-American, 2003 GSAC Defensive Player of the Year, Team Captain, and a 2005 GSAC All Conference Player.

Players attending the camp will have the opportunity to have very successful coaches watch them play. The wonderful thing for Alaskan basketball players is that they don't have to fly to the lower 48 to gain exposure. NBC Camps brings exposure to you. Over 30 Alaskan teams will be at NBC UAA Girl's team camps.

Angela Gimeno

Angela Gimeno is a pre-med major hoping to be involved in Athletic Training or medical studies. She has been with NBC since 1999, where she was involved in the first VA started in Spokane and has continued to coach as a Master Teacher at the Washington and Montana sites. In 2004 she was a part of the NAIA final four and has valued the life skills and basketball training of NBC. “NBC camp provides an outstanding atmosphere to learn, grow and have fun with kids. It has given me the tools I need to be successful in life. I love coaching and teaching basketball. NBC camps have given me a great opportunity to give back to the campers and be a part of the special journey of sports in their lives.”

Kellan Moll

Kellan Moll graduated from Grace Christian School where he played varsity basketball for four years. Kellan was the South Central Conference MVP for the 2007 and 2008 seasons. He is attending Seattle Pacific University next year, where he will be playing for the Men's Basketball Program. Kellan is working for NBC for his second consistent summer. Kellen says the he "went to NBC Camps for five years as a camper. Now, I am excited to be able to give kids the same opportunity I had. It is a place to get better as a basketball player and a person."

Mike Giles

Mike Giles was born and raised in Anchorage, AK. He graduated in '87 from Bartlett High School in Anchorage, AK and has refereed Alaskan basketball since '90. Mike's first NBC camp experience was in '86. Looking back on his time with NBC, Mike states, "The single most influential life experience I had was my European NBC Tour. NBC Camps helped me develop a confidence that has shaped my life. How's my P.M.A. (Positive Mental Attitude?) BOY AM I ENTHUSIASTIC!!" Mike has proven himself to be an asset to NBC-APU. He works hard as a father of four and in his pursuit of a math teaching degree for high school. To sum up Mike Giles in two words: Pure Heart.

Shirin Turujman

Shirin comes to us from Fresno Pacific University located in central California. She just wrapped up her sophomore year were she was one of the most feared defenders in the league and one of the main contributors to the team. As one of the leaders of her team and a natural ability to work with youth, we very much looking forward to her presence at camp. Concerning her upcoming introduction to the world of NBC, Shirin says, "As an athlete and a student of the game I am so excited for the opportunity to help improve the skills of those who are aspiring to be the best they can be both on and off the court. I am thrilled to get the chance to help in the process of guiding these athletes to their maximum potential, while also getting the chance to improve my weaknesses and better my strengths through the help of those around me."

Jessica is a first time coach for NBC Camps this year. She went to Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, CA where she played on the varsity team for 3 years. While in high school, Jessica was on the all-league and all-regional teams her junior & senior year. She currently attends and plays basketball at Fresno Pacific University in California where she is planning on pursuing a degree in Psychology. Last year as a freshman she received the Rookie of the Year award for her team. Jessica says that she is “so excited to get involved with NBC Camps. Their attention to detail and passion for the game of basketball & their campers sets them apart from other camps. What I like best about NBC Camps is the emphasis on developing life skills through the game which is the most important & applicable part of sports. Jason is a multi sport athlete from Nikiski High school. He graduated from Nikiski High School in 1990. Went to Northwest College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Literature, and a minor in educational ministries. Jason has been involved in coaching youth for 18 years. A big part of this is coaching is with his three great kids. He is currently an assistant coach for Nikiski High School, and is very proud to be a part of the Nikiski Girls Basketball Program. Jason started working at NBC camps last year and loved the atmosphere, the coaches, and the campers. "I use sports to coach life. What you put into it is what you are going to get out of it. If you go in half way you will only get half a life. If you put everything into it, your life will be full. Remember to start out by picking a great coach. If you want my advice I recommend Jesus. Sweat, skills, and character is what NBC is about."

Daniel Pearson

Daniel Pearson started his employment with NBC two summers ago as a junior coach. He impressed the NBC-RMC staff with his passion for basketball and ability to teach campers despite being the same age as several PAC 10 guys. He came back last year as a full fledged coach and was a true asset to the NBC experience in Billings, MT. Daniel will graduate from Billings Central this May and is considering a college career in Helena, MT. He will join the Carroll Saints' roster this upcoming fall. Dan states, "NBC is a combination of two wonderful things in my life, basketball and faith. On the basketball side, NBC stresses discipline, fundamentals and outworking the person next to you at all times, all values that have helped get me where I am at today. Even more important than basketball is the faith aspect in which coaches attempt to lead youth to Christ through basketball. NBC stresses morals, community and doing what is right always, more values that have led to where I am today. NBC has made an everlasting impact on my life and I am forever grateful for the opportunities it has provided." Dan led his team to the Class A Divisional Championship with a career-high 31 points and sunk 14 of 15 free-throws. Dan has an amazing personality and is a person to learn much from. NBC-APU is excited to welcome him to the staff for his first Alaskan summer!

Jennifer Wellman - Certified Athletic Trainer

Jennifer has been with NBC Camps for over five years, first as a camper, then a coach, and now as an athletic trainer. She graduated from the University of Montana-Missoula with a bachelors in Athletic Training and a Masters in Sport Psychology. She is currently the athletic trainer at a local high school in Missoula. Jennifer has a passion to see kids grow in their ability of the game of basketball and in life. Blisters, bandaids, tape, coughdrops, even crutches she has it all. Jennifer states, “NBC camps provide a positive environment where individuals are pushed to give their all, both on the basketball court and in the game of life. The opportunity to work with kids, while they are learning about basketball and their Savior while having fun, is a great and exciting adventure. I feel privileged to be a part of the NBC experience.” The entire staff feels entirely blessed to have Jenn taking care of them. Thanks, Jenn!
